This week in The 21 Most Powerful Minutes in a Leader’s Day I read about the law of respect.
In the book John Maxwell states, “When a leader gains respect, leading becomes easier.”
It’s the classic leadership struggle. The desire to be liked vs. the desire to be respected. I’ve had several experiences in my life when I was torn between the two. Maxwell offers that being respected is much more valuable to you as a leader than being liked.
Do you agree?
How has the struggled between being liked or respected played out in your life?
